Measurement Procedure

All measurements for the child restraint tether belt locations start from a center line. The lines run from side to side on the vehicle. The lines also run under the seat (bucket or bench). The lines for the seats are as follows:

    Object Number: 162256 Size: SH
  1. For front bucket passenger seats, the centerline runs from the left rear mounting stud to the right rear mounting stud.

  2. Object Number: 177442 Size: SH
  3. For rear bucket seats, the centerline runs from the left rear mounting stud to the right rear mounting stud.

  4. Object Number: 162262 Size: SH
  5. For bench seats, the centerline runs through the pin in the left rear anchor pocket in the floor. The line then runs through the pin in the right rear anchor pocket in the floor.

  6. Object Number: 177447 Size: SH
  7. For second rear bench seats, the centerline runs through the pin in the left rear anchor pocket in the floor. The line then runs through the pin in the right rear anchor pocket in the floor (1).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 162248 Size: SH
  1. Cut the carpet or mat and the insulation so that the anchor plate sits on the floor panel sheet metal.
  2. Drill a 10.0  mm (3/8 in) hole in the floor pan at the proper location.
  3. Install an M8 bolt or equivalent through the anchor plate and the floor pan.
  4. Install a medium bodied sealer around the cleaned hole at the underside of the floor panel.
  5. Install a 62 mm (2 7/16 in) diameter by 3 mm (1/8 in) flat washer.
  6. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  7. Install a nut to child restraint tether belt bolt.
  8. Tighten
Tighten the nut to child restraint tether belt bolt to 27 N·m (20 lb ft).
