Chucking Over Bumps

Problem

Action

The locators are misaligned.

  1. Adjust the locators.
  2. Adjust the lower roller bracket until the roller contacts the track.

The lower roller is misaligned.

Adjust the lower roller.

Itching Noise

Problem

Action

The door lock pillar molding rubs on the door trim panel.

Apply low friction tape (GM P/N 22586239 or equivalent) to the door lock pillar molding.

Inner Door Panel Rattles

Problem

Action

The inner door panel is flexing.

Shim the inner and the outer door panels with foam tape in the center of the door.

Rattle Noise at the Rear Latch

Problem

Action

There are too many/few washers in the rear striker.

  1. Look for witness marks on the locking cam.
  2. Remove/install washers to the striker.
  3. Readjust the striker.

Itch Noise at the Bottom of the Door

Problem

Action

The trim panel hits on the stepwell pad.

Remove the lip from the stepwell with a knife.

Rattle Around Window

Problem

Action

The rear edge of the garnish molding rattles.

Insulate the inside of the garnish molding with foam tape.

Swing Out Window Latch Rattles

Problem

Action

There is improper coating on the pin.

Install a teflon pin (GM P/N 15690675 or equivalent).

Itch Noise in Window Area

Problem

Action

The window contacts the trim panel.

  1. Remove the door trim panel.
  2. Remove the garnish molding.
  3. Trim 2-3 mm (0.08-0.12 in) from the garnish molding for clearance.
  4. Reinstall the garnish molding.
