Removal Procedure
- Recover the refrigerant from the system. Refer to
Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General Information.
- Remove the auxiliary evaporator
rear outlet tube from the auxiliary evaporator outlet side tubes.
- Remove the auxiliary evaporator rear inlet tube from the auxiliary
evaporator inlet side tubes.
- Remove the bolts that retain the clips on the tubes to the body.
- Remove the nut that retains the tube to the auxiliary evaporator
module.
- Remove the tube from the
auxiliary evaporator module.
- Remove the seal washers.
Installation Procedure
- Install the seal washers.

- Install the tube to the auxiliary evaporator module.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the nut that retains the tube to the auxiliary evaporator module.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Install the bolts that retain the clips on the tubes to the body.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 4 N·m (35 lb in).
- Install the auxiliary evaporator rear tube inlet tube to the auxiliary
evaporator inlet side tube.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 27 N·m (20 lb ft).
- Install the auxiliary evaporator rear tube outlet tube to the
auxiliary evaporator outlet side tube.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 47.5 N·m (35 lb ft).
- Lower the vehicle.
- Evacuate and recharge the system. Refer to
Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
.
- Leak test the fitting(s) of the repaired or reinstalled component
using the J 39400-A
.
