Removal Procedure
- Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement in Interior Trim.
- Remove the oil filler tube and bolt.
- Disconnect the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor electrical connector.
- Remove the PCV valve hose assembly from the intake manifold and the valve rocker arm cover.
- Remove the rear spark plug wire retainer from the support.
- Remove the valve rocker arm cover. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm Cover Removal - Left Side in Engine Unit Repair.
- Clean all sealing surfaces and the valve rocker arm cover. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm Cover Cleaning and Inspection in Engine Unit Repair.
Installation Procedure
- Install the valve rocker arm cover and bolts. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm Cover Installation - Left Side in Engine Unit Repair.
- Install the PCV valve hose assembly to the intake manifold and in the valve rocker arm cover.
- Install the rear spark plug wire retainer to the support.
- Install the oil filler tube and bolt.
- Connect the ECT sensor electrical connector.
- Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement in Interior Trim.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
