  1. Turn the ignition ON.
  2. Turn the rear window wiper/washer switch to the OFF position.

Is the rear wiper always on?

Go to Step 3

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

  1. Disconnect the rear window wiper motor module switch input connector.
  2. Turn the rear window wiper/washer switch to the OFF position.
  3. Connect a test lamp from the rear window wiper/washer switch delay/on signal circuit terminal in the rear window wiper motor module harness connector to ground.
  4. Turn the ignition ON.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 5

  1. Connect a test lamp from the rear window washer fluid pump control circuit terminal in the rear window wiper motor module harness connector to ground.
  2. Turn the ignition ON.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 6

Test the rear window wiper/washer switch delay/on signal circuit for a short to voltage. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 11

Test the rear window washer fluid pump control circuit for a short to voltage. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

  1. Reconnect the rear window wiper motor module switch input connector.
  2. Turn the ignition ON.
  3. Turn the rear window wiper/washer switch to the OFF position.
  4. Backprobe the rear window wiper motor park switch signal circuit terminal E with a test lamp connected to ground.

Is the test lamp off when the wiper arm is in the park position?

Go to Step 10

Go to Step 9

Replace the rear window wiper/washer switch. Refer to Accessory Switch Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 11

Replace the rear window wiper motor module. Refer to Liftgate Wiper Motor Replacement
