This bulletin is being issued to revise the front lower control arm bolt tightening specification in the Front Suspension sub-section of the Service Manual. Please replace the current information in the Service Manual with the following information.
The following information has been updated within SI. If you are using a paper version of this Service Manual, please make a reference to this bulletin on the affected page.
New front lower control arm bolts have been implemented in the middle of the 2004 model year. The new bolts have a higher tightening specification.
Technicians will have to identify which bolt they have (old or new) in order to determine the proper tightening specification.
The old bolt is black and the tightening specification remains 90 N·m (66 lb ft).
The new bolt is silver and the tightening specification is 118 N·m (87 lb ft).
