1. Raise vehicle up on hoist.
2. Depress locking tabs on plastic snap-in connector on oil cooler outlet hose and pipe assembly.
3. Brace pipe assembly with one hand to prevent bending or damage and pull hose assembly off of snap-in connector with other hand. Some leakage will occur, but it will be minor. The snap-in connector will come out with the pipe assembly.
4. Check snap-in connector and "O" ring inside of hose assembly for damage. If no damage is evident, lube male tube end surface, up to the head, with engine oil and snap the connector onto the pipe tube and making sure it is properly seated before reconnecting the pipe to the hose assembly.
5. If the snap-in connector or "O" ring is damaged, the hose assembly must be replaced. The snap-in connector is part of the hose assembly and comes inserted in the hose connector.
6. Start engine and check hose connection for leakage.
7. Install "Campaign Identification Label."
Clean surface of radiator upper mounting panel and apply a Campaign Identification Label. Make sure the correct campaign number is inserted on the label. This will indicate that the campaign has been completed.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
