DEFINITION: A ping, snap or click is usually heard on initial load after the transmission is in gear, either forward or reverse.

The rear springs or upper and lower control arms have loose bushing bolts.

Tighten the bolts to specified torque. Refer to Fastener Tightening Specifications .

A loose or out of phase pinion flange

1. Remove the pinion flange.
2. Turn the pinion flange 180 degrees from the original position.
3. Lubricate the splines.
4. Install the pinion flange.
5. Tighten the bolts and pinion nut to specified torque. Refer to Fastener Tightening Specifications .
