Tools Required

J 23653-SIR Lock Plate Compressor

1. Remove the SIR coil assembly. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil - Disassemble - Off Vehicle .



2. Remove the retaining ring using the J 23653-SIR .



3. Remove the shaft lock shield assembly (1).
4. Remove the turn signal cancel cam assembly (2).
5. Remove the upper bearing spring (3).
6. Remove the thrust washer (4)



7. Remove the 4 TORX® screws from the steering column housing assembly.
8. Remove the steering column housing assembly from the steering column housing jacket.
