Removal Procedure
- Remove instrument panel. Refer to
Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement
in Instrument Panel and Gauges.
- Remove the windshield
defroster duct. Refer to
Defroster Air Outlet Replacement
.
- Remove the screws that retain the air outlet duct to the instrument
panel carrier.
- Remove the side window defrost ducts.
- Remove the air outlet duct from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the air outlet
duct to the instrument panel.
- Install the side window defroster ducts.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the screws
that retain the floor air outlet duct to the instrument panel carrier.
Tighten
Tighten the screws that retain the floor air outlet duct to the instrument
panel carrier to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
- Install the windshield washer nozzle. Refer to
Defroster Air Outlet Replacement
.
- Install instrument panel. Refer to
Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement
in Instrument Panel and Gauges.
