Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the liftgate garnish molding. Refer to Liftgate Garnish Molding Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 324269  Size: SH
  3. Remove the wiring harness and the conduit assembly for the power lock actuator and the wiper washer motor.

  4. Object Number: 324265  Size: SH
  5. Remove the hinge nuts (3) while an assistant holds the liftgate in place in order to remove the strut clips (4) and the struts from the lower stud (2).

  6. Object Number: 324266  Size: MH
  7. Remove the hinge nuts (5).
  8. Remove the liftgate (1) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the liftgate (1) to the vehicle.

  2. Object Number: 324266  Size: MH
  3. Install the hinge stud through the holes in the gasket and the roof panel.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the hinge nuts (5) with new washers in order to prevent water leaks.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the hinge nuts to 12 N·m (106 lb in).

  7. Install the liftgate strut clips (4).

  8. Object Number: 324269  Size: SH
  9. Install the wiring harness and the hose assembly for the power lock actuator and the wiper washer motor.
  10. Install the liftgate garnish molding. Refer to Liftgate Garnish Molding Replacement .
