Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the trim panel. Refer to Rear Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  2. Use a soft-faced scraper, if needed, in order to peel the water deflector away from the door. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 324258  Size: SH
  4. Remove the control rod from the outside handle.
  5. Remove the outside handle nuts.
  6. Remove the outside handle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 324258  Size: SH
  1. Install the outside handle to the door.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the outside handle nuts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the outside handle nuts to 7 N·m (62 lb in).

  5. Install the control rod to the outside handle through the clip.
  6. Install the water deflector.
  7. Install the trim panel.
