Rear Door Lock Replacement Cargo Doors

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the trim panel. Refer to Rear Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  2. Separate the water deflector at the perforations. Use a sharp-bladed tool for proper access, if needed. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 324197  Size: SH
  4. Remove the control rods (1, 2) from the lock assembly.
  5. 3.1. Pry the clip anchor out of the hole.
    3.2. Push the clip away from the lever.
    3.3. Pull the rod and the clip away from the lever.
  6. Remove the screws (3) that retain the lock to the door.
  7. Remove the lock from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the clips to the lock.
  2. Install the lock to the vehicle.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the screws (3) that retain the lock to the door.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the screws that retain the lock to the door to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  6. Install the control rods (1, 2) through the clips to the lock assembly.
  7. Install the water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement .
  8. Install the trim panel. Refer to Rear Door Trim Panel Replacement .

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the trim panel. Refer to Rear Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  2. Separate the water deflector at the perforations. Use a sharp-bladed tool if needed. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 324253  Size: SH
  4. Remove the control rods from the lock assembly.
  5. 3.1. Pry the clip anchor out of the hole.
    3.2. Push the clip away from the lever.
    3.3. Pull the rod and the clip away from the lever.
  6. Remove the screws that retain the lock to the door.
  7. Remove the lock from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the clips to the lock.
  2. Install the lock to the vehicle.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure.   4. Install the screws that retain the lock to the door.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the screws that retain the lock to the door to 11 N·m (97 lb in).

  6. Install the control rods through the clips to the lock assembly.
  7. Install the water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement .
  8. Install the trim panel. Refer to Rear Door Trim Panel Replacement .
