Install new GM-approved service replacement air conditioning O-ring seals whenever a joint or a fitting is installed, unless new O-ring seals are provided on the replacement components. If new O-ring seals of the correct type are not installed, heavy leakage of Refrigerant-134a may occur. Refer to the part number for identification.
Coat the air conditioning O-ring seals with 525 viscosity refrigerant oil just before installation. Then slip the O-ring seals onto the flange tube. This will ensure that the seals are properly located and sealed. To prevent the possibility of swelling and to ensure sealing effectiveness, do not soak the O-ring seals in refrigerant oil. Before installation, examine the O-ring seals and the fittings to make sure the O-ring seal are not nicked or deformed. Replace any nicked or deformed parts to prevent refrigerant leakage.
