Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the IP extension. Refer to Instrument Panel Extension Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  2. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement in Interior Trim.

  3. Object Number: 280412  Size: SH
  4. Remove the screws that retain the actuator (1) to the heater assembly.
  5. Disconnect the electrical connector (2).

  6. Object Number: 404930  Size: SH
  7. Remove the air temperature actuator from the heater assembly.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 404930  Size: SH
  1. Install the air temperature actuator to the heater assembly.
  2. Connect the electrical connector.

  3. Object Number: 280412  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the screws that retain the air temperature actuator (1) to the heater assembly.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  6. Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement in Interior Trim.
  7. Install the IP extension. Refer to Instrument Panel Extension Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
