Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the passenger side knee bolster. Refer to Passenger Knee Bolster Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  2. Remove the right cowl trim panel. Refer to Cowl Side Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.

  3. Object Number: 555510  Size: SH
  4. Remove the vacuum hose (3) from the recirculation actuator (2).
  5. Remove the nuts that retain the recirculation actuator.
  6. Remove the recirculation actuator from the recirculation door.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the recirculation actuator to the recirculation door.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the nuts that retain the recirculation actuator.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  5. Install the vacuum hose (3) to the recirculation actuator (2).
  6. Install the right cowl trim panel. Refer to Cowl Side Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  7. Install the passenger side knee bolster. Refer to Passenger Knee Bolster Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
