Removal Procedure
- Remove the IP extension.
Refer to
Instrument Panel Extension Replacement
in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
- Remove the floor air outlet duct from the air distributor.
- Remove the bucket seats. Refer to
Bucket Seat Replacement
in Seats.
- Remove the front section of the carpet if equipped. Refer to
Front Floor Mat/Carpet Replacement
in Interior
Trim.
- Remove the retaining nuts
from the floor outlet duct, if equipped.
- Remove the floor air outlet from the ducts to the rear seat, if
equipped.
Installation Procedure
- Install the floor air
outlet to the ducts to the rear seat, if equipped.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the retaining nuts to the floor outlet duct, if equipped.
Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
- Install the front section of the carpet if equipped. Refer to
Front Floor Mat/Carpet Replacement
in Interior
Trim.
- Install the bucket seats. Refer to
Bucket Seat Replacement
in Seats.
- Install the floor air
outlet duct to the air distributor.
- Install the IP extension. Refer to
Instrument Panel Extension Replacement
in Instrument Panel,
Gages, and Console.
