J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers

Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the coolant from the radiator. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  2. Remove the upper fan shroud. Refer to Engine Coolant Fan Upper Shroud Replacement .
  3. Remove the lower fan shroud. Refer to Engine Coolant Fan Lower Shroud Replacement .

  5. Using the J 38185 reposition the inlet radiator hose clamp from the radiator.
  6. Remove the inlet hose from the radiator.
  7. Using the J 38185 reposition the outlet radiator hose clamp from the radiator.
  8. Remove the outlet hose from the radiator.
  9. Disconnect the transmission oil cooler lines from the radiator. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Replacement in Automatic Transmission.
  10. Disconnect the engine oil cooler lines from the radiator. Refer to Engine Oil Cooler Hose/Pipe Replacement .

  12. Disconnect the coolant recovery reservoir hose from the radiator filler neck.
  13. Remove the radiator grille. Refer to Grille Replacement in Exterior Trim.

  14. Object Number: 108126  Size: SH
  15. Remove the four bolts attaching the A/C condenser to the radiator.
  16. Remove the radiator.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 108126  Size: SH
  1. Install the radiator.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the 4 bolts attaching the A/C condenser to the radiator.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

  5. Install the radiator grille. Refer to Grille Replacement in Exterior Trim.

  7. Connect the coolant recovery reservoir hose to the radiator filler neck.
  8. Connect the engine oil cooler lines to the connector fittings. Refer to Engine Oil Cooler Hose/Pipe Replacement .
  9. Connect the transmission oil cooler lines into the connector fittings. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Replacement in Automatic Transmission.

  11. Install the radiator inlet hose to the radiator.
  12. Using the J 38185 reposition the inlet radiator hose clamp to the radiator.
  13. Install the outlet hose to the radiator.
  14. Using the J 38185 reposition the outlet radiator hose clamp to the radiator.
  15. Install the lower fan shroud. Refer to Engine Coolant Fan Lower Shroud Replacement .
  16. Install the upper fan shroud. Refer to Engine Coolant Fan Upper Shroud Replacement .
  17. Refill the cooling system with coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
