J 35748 Fuel Pump/Oil Pressure Switch Installation Socket

  1. Install new oil bypass valves.

  2. Object Number: 70416  Size: SH
  3. Install the oil filter fitting.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the oil filter fitting to 66 N·m (49 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

    Important: Do not use silicon tape as this will insulate the sensor from the engine block.

  5. After applying a water base caulk to the sensor threads, install the knock sensor into the cylinder block.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the knock sensor to 19 N·m (14 lb ft).

  7. Install the fuel pump/oil pressure switch using J 35748 .

  8. Object Number: 66327  Size: MH
  9. Install the oil gallery plugs.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the oil gallery plugs to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

  11. Install the cooling jacket plugs.
  12. Install the cylinder block cooling drain plugs.
  13. Tighten
    Tighten the cylinder block drain plugs to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).
