Makes 🢒 GMC_Truck 🢒 1998 🢒 Savana 🢒 Engine 🢒 Engine Mechanical - 5.0L and 5.7L 🢒 Engine Front Cover Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the crankshaft balancer. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Replacement .
  2. Remove the water pump. Refer to Water Pump Replacement .
  3. Drain the engine oil. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement .
  4. Remove the oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement .
  5. Disconnect the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor wire.

    6. Object Number: 69010 Size: SH
  6. Remove the engine front cover. Refer to Engine Front Cover Removal .
  7. Clean all sealing surfaces.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 69010 Size: SH
  1. Clean all sealer from the corners of the oil pan gasket where it meets the engine front cover.

    2. Install the NEW engine front cover. Refer to Engine Front Cover Installation .


    Object Number: 32086 Size: SH
  2. Apply a 5 mm (0.196 in) bead of adhesive, GM P/N 12346141 or equivalent, 25 mm (1.0 in) long to the engine front cover meets the engine block oil pan surface.
  3. Install the engine oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement .
  4. Connect the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor wire.
  5. Install the water pump. Refer to Water Pump Replacement .
  6. Install the crankshaft balancer. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Replacement .
