Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 71686  Size: SH
  1. In order to gain access to the drive belt, remove the engine coolant reservoir.
  2. Refer to Coolant Recovery Reservoir Replacement .


    Object Number: 183399  Size: SH
  3. Remove the air cleaner intake duct.

  4. Object Number: 177620  Size: SH
  5. Install a 3/8 inch drive wrench on the tensioner arm and rotate the arm counterclockwise.
  6. Remove the drive belt.
  7. Slowly release the tension on the tensioner arm.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 43858  Size: SH
  1. Route the belt over all the pulleys except the tensioner arm.
  2. Important: Refer to the Underhood Label for the proper drive belt routing graphic.

  3. Observe belt routing for vehicles without air conditioning.

  4. Object Number: 43859  Size: SH
  5. Observe belt routing for vehicles with air conditioning.

  6. Object Number: 177622  Size: SH
  7. Install a 3/8 inch drive wrench on the tensioner arm and rotate the arm counterclockwise.
  8. Install the belt over the tensioner arm pulley.
  9. Slowly release the tension on the tensioner arm.
  10. Confirm that the belt is properly routed.

  12. Install the air cleaner intake duct.

  14. Install the engine coolant reservoir.
