Valve Rocker Arm Cover Replacement Left

1. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement in Interior Trim.
2. Disconnect the engine coolant temperature (ECT) gauge sensor.
3. Remove the PCV valve and hose assembly from the valve rocker arm cover and the intake manifold.
4. Remove the spark plug wires for the left side of the engine from the distributor cap. Refer to Spark Plug Wire Harness Replacement in Engine Electrical.
5. Remove the rear spark plug wire harness retainer from the EGR valve inlet pipe bracket.



6. Remove the valve rocker arm cover. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm Cover Removal .
7. Clean all sealing surfaces. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm Cover Clean and Inspect .

1. Install the valve rocker arm cover and bolts. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm Cover Installation .



2. Install the PCV valve and hose assembly in the valve rocker arm cover and to the intake manifold.
3. Connect the spark plug wires to the distributor cap. Refer to Spark Plug Wire Harness Replacement in Engine Electrical.
4. Install the rear spark plug wire harness retainer to the EGR valve inlet pipe bracket.
5. Connect the ECT gauge sensor.
6. Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement in Interior Trim.

Valve Rocker Arm Cover Replacement Right

1. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement in Interior Trim.
2. Remove the spark plug wires for the right side of the engine from the distributor cap. Refer to Spark Plug Wire Harness Replacement .
3. Remove the PCV tube from the valve rocker arm cover and the air inlet duct.
4. Move the engine wiring harness aside.



5. Remove the screw holding the oil fill tube to the oil fill tube lower support.
6. Remove the oil fill tube from the right valve rocker arm cover and move aside.



7. Remove the right valve rocker arm cover. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm Cover Removal .
8. Clean all sealing surfaces. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm Cover Clean and Inspect .

1. Install the right valve rocker arm cover and bolts. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm Cover Installation .



2. Install the oil fill tube in the right valve rocker arm cover.
3. Install the oil fill tube and screw to the oil fill tube lower support.



4. Install the PCV hose in the valve rocker arm cover and to the air inlet duct.
5. Connect the spark plug wires to the distributor cap. Refer to Spark Plug Wire Harness Replacement in Engine Electrical.
6. Position the engine wiring harness.
7. Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement in Interior Trim.
