Removal Procedure

  1. Loosen the upper air intake duct clamps.

  2. Object Number: 183467  Size: SH
  3. Remove the upper air intake duct.

  4. Object Number: 183451  Size: SH
  5. Unfasten the clips by holding the air cleaner cover to the housing.

  6. Object Number: 183462  Size: SH
  7. Remove the air cleaner element.
  8. • Inspect the air cleaner element for damage or excessive dirt accumulation. Replace the filter if necessary.
    • Inspect the air inlet elbow for damage or cracks. Replace if necessary.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the air cleaner element.

  2. Object Number: 183451  Size: SH
  3. Install the air cleaner cover to the housing and fasten the clips into place.

  4. Object Number: 183467  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Connect the upper air intake duct clamp.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the clamp to 4 N·m (40 lb in).
