Action

DEFINITION: Abnormal bounce or hop of the wheel under normal driving conditions

Tire and wheel are out of balance

Balance the wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Balancing in Vibration Diagnosis and Correction.

Tire and wheel are out of round

Replace the tire. Refer to Tire Mounting and Dismounting in Tires and Wheels.

Blister or bump on the tire

Replace the tire. Refer to Tire Mounting and Dismounting in Tires and Wheels.

Improper shock absorber action

Replace the shock absorber. Refer to Shock Absorber Replacement in Front Suspension or Shock Absorber Replacement in Rear Suspension.

Excessive wheel or tire runout

Refer to Tire and Wheel Runout Specifications in Vibration Diagnosis and Correction.

Tire lead

Use any of the following tables:
