  1. Apply the parking brake.
  2. Place the ignition switch in RUN.

Is the brake indicator illuminated?

  1. Disconnect the connector at the park brake warning switch.
  2. Connect a fused jumper wire between park bake warning switch connector cavity A for the LT BLU (1134) wire and ground.

Is the brake indicator illuminated?

  1. Disconnect the connector at the instrument cluster.
  2. Connect an unpowered test lamp between instrument cluster connector cavity B17 and a known good ground.

Does the test lamp light?

  1. Disconnect the daytime running lamp control module.
  2. Connect a J 39200 to the instrument cluster connector cavity A13 for the TAN/WHT (33) wire and the daytime running lamp control module connector cavity E.
  3. Test for continuity.

Is continuity present?

  1. Reconnect all components.
  2. Position the vehicle safely for the release of the parking brake.
  3. Release the parking brake.
  4. Start the engine while observing the instrument cluster.

Is the brake indicator illuminated while the ignition switch is in START?

Adjust the park brake warning switch.

Repair the open in the PNK (39) wire between the IP fuse block connector cavity J7 and the instrument cluster connector cavity B17.

Repair the open in the TAN/WHT (33) wire between the instrument cluster connector cavity A13 and the daytime running lamp control module connector cavity E.

  1. Connect a J 39200 between connector C200 pin B2 for the BLK (150) wire and ground.
  2. Test for continuity.

Is continuity present?

  1. Stop the engine.
  2. Backprobe ignition switch connector C200 from cavity B5 with a fused jumper to a known good ground.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to START.

Does the brake indicator light?

  1. Disconnect the connector C217.
  2. Disconnect the connector at the P/B booster fluid flow and pressure alarm delay module.
  3. Connect a J 39200 between connector C217 terminal A for the TAN/WHT (33) wire and P/B booster fluid flow and pressure alarm delay module connector cavity E for the BLK/YEL (1471) wire.
  4. Test for continuity in both directions.

Is continuity present in one direction only?

  2. Disconnect the daytime running lamp control module.
  3. Connect a J 39200 between the brake pressure differential switch connector cavity A for the PPL (680) wire and daytime running lamp control module connector cavity F for the TAN/WHT (33) wire.
  4. Test for continuity in both directions.

Is continuity present in one direction only?

Is there an open in the TAN/WHT (33) wire or in the BLK/YEL (1471) wire between connector C217 terminal A and the P/B booster fluid flow pressure alarm delay module?

  2. Test for continuity.

  1. Disconnect connector C1 at the electronic brake control module.
  2. Connect a J 39200 between electronic brake control module connector C1 cavity H for the PPL (680) wire and the daytime running lamp control module cavity F for the TAN/WHT (33) wire.
  3. Test for continuity in both directions.

Is continuity present?

  2. Connect a J 39200 to the instrument cluster connector cavity A13 for the TAN/WHT (33) wire and the daytime running lamp control module connector cavity E.
  3. Test for continuity.

  1. Reconnect all components.
  2. Position the vehicle safely for the release of the parking brake.
  3. Release the parking brake.
  4. Start the engine while observing the instrument cluster.

  1. Connect a J 39200 between connector C200 pin B2 for the BLK (150) wire and ground.
  2. Test for continuity.

  2. Backprobe ignition switch connector C200 from cavity B5 with a fused jumper to a known good ground.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to START.

Does the brake indicator light?

  2. Disconnect the connector at the P/B booster fluid flow and pressure alarm delay module.
  3. Connect a J 39200 between connector C217 terminal A for the TAN/WHT (33) wire and P/B booster fluid flow and pressure alarm delay module connector cavity E for the BLK/YEL (1471) wire.
  4. Test for continuity in both directions.

Is continuity present in one direction only?

  3. Connect a J 39200 between the brake pressure differential switch connector cavity A for the PPL (680) wire and daytime running lamp control module connector cavity F for the TAN/WHT (33) wire.
  4. Test for continuity in both directions.

Is continuity present in one direction only?

  2. Connect a J 39200 between electronic brake control module connector C1 cavity H for the PPL (680) wire and the daytime running lamp control module cavity F for the TAN/WHT (33) wire.
  3. Test for continuity in both directions.
