Was the Interior Lights Dimming System Check performed?

  1. Adjust the instrument panel (IP) dimmer switch thumbwheel to the mid-range position.
  2. Place the headlamp switch in the park lamps position.
  3. Observe that the parking lamps operate.
  4. Disconnect connector C1 at the heater and air conditioning (A/C) controller.
  5. Connect a J 39200 DMM between heater and A/C controller connector C1, cavity C for CKT 8 (GRY), and ground.

Is voltage present?

Repair the open in CKT 150 (BLK) between splice S201 and ground G201.

Are all of the IP lamps operative?

--

  1. Remove ILLUM fuse 14 at the IP fuse block.
  2. Connect a J 39200 DMM between the IP fuse block, ILLUM fuse 14 cavity E3, and ground.

Is voltage present?

Repair the open in CKT 8 (GRY) between the IP fuse block and splice S223.

Are all of the IP lamps operative?

--

  1. Disconnect the connector at the headlamp switch.
  2. Connect a J 39200 DMM between the headlamp switch connector, cavity E for CKT 44 (DK GRN), and the IP fuse block, ILLUM fuse 14, cavity E3.

Is continuity present?

Replace the headlamp switch.

Are all of the IP lamps operative?

Repair the open in CKT 44 (DK GRN) between the headlamp switch and the IP fuse block.
