  1. Attach the steering column support assembly (2) to the steering column jacket assembly (3).
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the new 4  TORX® screws (1) into the steering column support assembly (2).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the TORX® screws to 17 N·m (13 lb ft).

  5. Install the steering shaft assembly (1) into the steering column support assembly (2) and the steering column jacket assembly (3).

  6. Object Number: 343881  Size: SH
  7. Install the adapter and bearing assembly (1) to the steering shaft assembly.

  8. Object Number: 343870  Size: SH
  9. Install the foam insulator (1) to the steering shaft assembly.

  10. Object Number: 662202  Size: SH
  11. Install the linear shift assembly onto the steering column jacket assembly.
  12. Install the 3 flat head 6-lobed socket tapping screws
  13. The linear shift assembly must be out of the PARK position in order to install the lower socket tapping screw.

    Tighten
    Tighten the flat head 6-lobed socket tapping screws to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  14. Put the column in the NEUTRAL position.
  15. Install the automatic transmission shift lock control.

  16. Object Number: 324887  Size: SH

    Important: The electrical contact on the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly must rest on the turn signal cancel cam assembly.

  17. Install the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly onto the steering column tilt head assembly.
  18. Screw the 2 pan head tapping screws into the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly.
  19. Tighten
    Tighten the pan head tapping screws to 7 N·m (62 lb in).

  20. Install the electronic lock module assembly. Refer to Electronic Column Lock Module - Assemble - Off Vehicle .
