  1. Disconnect connector C200 at the steering column.
  2. Connect an unpowered test lamp between connector C200, pin E8 for CKT 1040 (ORN), and ground.

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 4

Repair the open in CKT 1040 (ORN) between the instrument panel fuse block and connector C200.

Are the hazard lamps operative?

--

  1. Connect a J 39200 DMM between connector C200, cavity E8 for the pigtail wire of CKT 140 (ORN), and cavity E1 for the pigtail wire of CKT 62 (LT GRN).
  2. Place the hazard warning switch in the down position.

Is continuity present?

--

  1. Locate the open in the pigtail wire of CKT 140 (ORN) or in the pigtail wire of CKT 62 (LT GRN) in the steering column.
  2. Repair the open, as necessary.

Are the hazard lamps operative?

Replace the hazard warning switch.

Are the hazard lamps operative?

Connect a J 39200 DMM between connector C200, cavity E9 for the pigtail wire of CKT 16 (PPL), and cavity A6 for the pigtail wire of CKT 15 (DK BLU).

Is continuity present?

  1. Disconnect the connector at the turn/hazard lamp flasher.
  2. Connect a J 39200 DMM between connector C200, pin E1, and the turn/hazard flasher connector, cavity B8, for CKT 62 (LT GRN).

Is continuity present?

Repair the open in CKT 62 (LT GRN) between the connector C200 and the turn/hazard lamp flasher.

Are the hazard lamps operative?

Connect a J 39200 DMM between the turn/hazard lamp flasher connector, cavity C8 for CKT 150 (BLK), and ground.

Is continuity present?

--

Replace the turn/hazard lamp flasher.

Are the hazard lamps operative?

Repair the open in CKT 150 (BLK) between the turn/hazard lamp flasher and ground G201.

  2. Connect an unpowered test lamp between connector C200 pin E8 for CKT 1040 (ORN) and ground.

Does the test lamp light?

Locate and repair the open in CKT 1040 (ORN) between the following components:

    • The IP fuse block
    • Connector C200

Is the repair complete?

  1. Connect a J 39200 DMM between the following components:
  2. • Connector C200 cavity E8 for CKT 140 (GRN) pigtail wire
    • Cavity E1 for CKT 1696 pigtail wire
  3. Depress the hazard warning switch to the down position.

Is continuity present?

--

Go to Step 6

Locate and repair the open one of the following components in the steering column:

    • CKT 140 pigtail wire
    • CKT 1696 pigtail wire

If neither wire is open, replace the hazard warning switch.

Is the repair complete?

Connect a J 39200 DMM between the following components:

  1. Connector C200 cavity E9 for CKT 1697 (PPL) pigtail wire
  2. Connector C200 cavity A6 for CKT 15 (DK BLU) pigtail wire

Is continuity present?

Replace the hazard warning switch.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Disconnect the connector at the turn/hazard lamp flasher.
  2. Connect a J 39200 DMM between the following components for CKT 1508 (LT BLU):
  3. • Connector C200 pin E1
    • The turn/hazard lamp flasher connector cavity B9

Is continuity present?

Locate and repair the open in CKT 1508 (LT BLU) between the following components:

    • Connector C200
    • Splice S251

Is the repair complete?

--

Connect a J 39200 DMM between the turn/hazard lamp flasher connector cavity C8 for CKT 150 (BLK) and ground.

Is continuity present?

--

Go to Step 11

Replace the turn/hazard lamp flasher.

Is the repair complete?

Locate and repair the open in CKT 150 (BLK) between the turn/hazard lamp flasher and ground G201.
