  2. Connect a J 39200 DMM between pigtail A and pigtail B of the seat belt switch.

  1. Disconnect the connector at the multi-function alarm module.
  2. Connect a J 39200 DMM between the multi-function alarm module connector, cavity A2, and the seat belt switch connector, cavity A, for CKT 238 (BLK/WHT).

Is continuity present?

Replace the multi-function alarm module. Refer to Multifunction Alarm Module Replacement .

Is the fasten safety belt chime operative?

--

Go to Audible Warnings System Check

Repair the open in CKT 238 (BLK/WHT) between the multi-function alarm module and the seat belt switch.

Is the fasten safety belt chime operative?

  2. Disconnect the connector at the seat belt switch.
  3. Connect a J 39200 DMM) between the following components:
    4. • The multifunction alarm module connector C1 cavity A2
    • The seat belt switch connector cavity A for the CKT 238 (BLK/WHT) wire

Is continuity present?

  1. Fasten the driver side seat belt.
  2. Connect a J 39200 DMM between the following components:
    3. • The seat belt switch pigtail A
    • The seat belt switch pigtail B

Is continuity present?

Go to Step 5

  1. Locate the open in the CKT 238 (BLK/WHT) wire between the following components:
    2. • The multifunction alarm module
    • The seat belt switch
  2. Repair the open in the CKT 238 (BLK/WHT) wire between the following components:
    3. • The multifunction alarm module
    • The seat belt switch

Is the repair complete?

  1. Disconnect the connector C1 at the multifunction alarm module.
  2. Connect an unpowered test lamp between the following components:
    3. • The multifunction alarm module connector C1 cavity D2 for the CKT 39 (PNK) wire
    • Ground

Did the test lamp light?

    • The multifunction alarm module
  2. Repair the open in the CKT 238 (BLK/WHT) wire between the following components:
    3. • The IP fuse block
    • The multifunction alarm module

Is the repair complete?
