Removal Procedure
- Remove the instrument panel lower extension upper trim panel.

- Remove the bolts (4) that retain the top outer
edges of the instrument panel lower extension.
- Remove the nuts (3) that retain the top and the bottom of the
instrument panel lower extension.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors for the following components:
• | The storage compartment lamp |
- Remove the instrument panel lower extension (2) from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the instrument panel lower extension
(2) to the vehicle.
- Connect the electrical connectors for the following components:
• | The storage compartment lamp |
- Align the instrument panel lower extension with the studs in the
instrument panel and the floor.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the nuts
(3) that retain the top and the bottom of the lower extension.
Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
- Install the bolts (4) that retain the outer edges of the instrument
panel lower extension.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 6 N·m (53 lb in).
- Install the instrument panel lower extension upper trim panel.
