  1. Disconnect the Left or the Right Rear Window Defogger.
  2. Connect a J 39200 between the following components:
  3. • Connector Cavity A for the BLK (150) wire on the disconnected defogger grid.
    • A known good Ground
  4. Inspect the circuit for continuity.

Is continuity present?

  1. Remove the Rear Window Defogger Relay from the Rear Window Defogger Relay socket.
  2. Connect a J 39200 between the following components:
  3. • The Rear Window Defogger Relay Connector Cavity A2
    • The Window Element Connector Cavity A for the PPL (293) wire.
  4. Inspect the circuit for continuity.

Is continuity present?

Repair the open in CKT 150.

Is the repair complete?

Connect an unpowered test lamp between the following components:

    • The Rear Window Defogger Relay Connector Cavity C1
    • Ground

Did the test lamp light?

  1. Locate the open in PPL (293) wire between the following components:
  2. • The Rear Window Defogger Relay Connector Cavity A2
    • The Splice S317
  3. Repair the open in PPL (293) wire between the following components:
  4. • The Rear Window Defogger Relay Connector Cavity A2
    • The Splice S317

Is the repair complete?

  1. Connect an unpowered test lamp between the following components:
  2. • The Rear Window Defogger Relay Connector Cavity A1
    • Ground
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  4. Depress the Rear Defogger Switch

Did the test lamp light?

  1. Locate the open in ORN (1540) wire between the following components:
  2. • The Rear Window Defogger Relay Connector Cavity C1
    • The RR FOG fuse
  3. Repair the open in ORN (1540) wire between the following components:
  4. • The Rear Window Defogger Relay Connector Cavity C1
    • The RR FOG fuse

Is the repair complete?

Connect an unpowered test lamp between the following components:

    • The Rear Window Defogger Relay Connector Cavity C1
    • The Rear Window Defogger Relay Connector Cavity C2

Did the test lamp light?

  2. • The Rear Window Defogger Relay Connector Cavity A1
    • The Splice S245
  3. Repair the open in ORN (267) wire between the following components:
  4. • The Rear Window Defogger Relay Connector Cavity A1
    • The Splice S245

Is the repair complete?

  1. Locate the open in BLK (150) wire between the following components:
  2. • The Rear Window Defogger Relay Connector Cavity C2
    • The Splice S202
  3. Repair the open in BLK (150) wire between the following components:
  4. • The Rear Window Defogger Relay Connector Cavity C2
    • The Splice S202

Is the repair complete?

  1. Disconnect the Rear Window Defogger Element Connector.
  2. Connect an unpowered test lamp the following components:
  3. • The Rear Window Defogger Element Connector Cavity A for the PPL (293) wire
    • Ground
  4. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  5. Depress the Rear Defogger Switch.

Did the test lamp light?

Go to Step 15

  1. Connect an unpowered test lamp between the following components:
  2. • The Connector Cavity A for the PPL (293) wire
    • The Cavity A for the BLK (150) wire.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  4. Depress the Rear Defogger Switch.

Did the test lamp light?

    • Repair the element
    • Replace the window

  3. Repair the open in BLK (150) wire between the following components:
  4. • The Rear Window Defogger Element Connector Cavity A
    • The Splice S303

Is the repair complete?
