Power is available to the Heater and A/C Controller's Rear Defogger Solid State Timer from the HTR-A/C Fuse 12 through the BRN (141) wire when the ignition switch is in the RUN position. Power is available at all times to the Heater and A/C Controller's internal relay contacts from the HTD MIR Fuse 2. Power is available at all times to the Rear Window Defogger Relay from the RR DEFOGG Fuse 22.
The following actions occur when the Rear Window Defogger Pushbutton on the Heater and A/C Controller is depressed:
The Solid State Timer actuates the internal relay to apply voltage through the ORN (267) wire to the following components:
• | The Left Power Outside Rearview Mirror heating element |
• | The Right Power Outside Rearview Mirror heating element |
• | The Rear Window Defogger Relay |
The Power Outside Rearview Mirror heating elements are common grounded at the following elements:
• | The Ground G201 |
• | The Rear Window Defogger elements |
The Recreational Vehicle Upfitter Package vehicles provide a second grounding connection for the Power Outside Rearview Mirror heating elements at Ground G200.
The local light emitting diode (LED) indicator is illuminated while the relay is energized. The Solid State Timer cycles off after 10 minutes nominally, de-energizing the relay. Depressing the pushbutton again re-initiates the timed operation. The relay is also de-energized with Ignition Switch out of the RUN position.
