Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the transmission oil level indicator.

  2. Object Number: 104974  Size: SH
  3. Remove the nut securing the oil lever indicator tube to the transmission.
  4. Remove the top half of the oil level indicator tube.
  5. Remove the lower half of the oil level indicator tube and seal from the transmission.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 104974  Size: SH
  1. Install a new seal into the transmission case.
  2. Install the lower oil level indicator tube into the transmission.
  3. Install the upper half of the oil level indicator tube into the lower half oil level indicator tube.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the nut securing the oil level indicator tube to the transmission.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 32 N·m (23 lb ft).

  7. Install the transmission oil level indicator.
