Removal Procedure
- Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
- Support the engine with a suitable jack stands. Do not load the engine mounts.
- Remove the front engine mount through bolt and the nut.
- Raise the front engine only enough to permit removal of the engine mount.
- Remove the front engine mount assembly bolts, nuts, and washers.
- Remove the front engine mount assembly.
Notice: When raising or supporting the engine for any reason, do not use a jack under the oil pan, any sheet metal, or the crankshaft pulley. Due to the small clearance between the oil pan and the oil pump screen, jacking against the oil pan may cause the pan to be bent against the pump screen. This will result in a damaged oil pickup unit.
Installation Procedure
- Install the front engine mount assembly.
- Install the front engine mount assembly bolts, nuts, and washers.
- Lower the engine until the front engine mount through bolt can be inserted.
- Install the front engine mount through bolt and the nut.
- Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
| • | Tighten the bolts to 59 N·m (44 lb ft). |
| • | Tighten the nuts to 45 N·m (33 lb ft). |
Tighten
Tighten the through bolt nut to 68 N·m (50 lb ft).
