Engine Mount Replacement Left

Important: When performing this service procedure, do not lift the engine block by the crankshaft balancer. Damage to the crankshaft balancer, crankshaft pulleys, or the crankshaft could occur.

1. Disconnect the battery cables from the battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
2. Raise the vehicle and support with safety stands. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
3. Move the front wheel to the left against the steering stops.
4. Install the pole jack on the engine locating tab just to the left rear of the power steering pump.



5. Remove the engine oil cooler lines from the retainer.
6. Remove the engine oil cooler line retainer from the engine mount bracket.



7. Remove the engine mount through bolt.
8. Raise the engine only enough to permit removal of the engine mount bolts.



9. Remove the engine mount bracket assembly from the engine block.



10. Remove the engine mount assembly bolts, nuts, and washers.
11. Remove the engine mount from the frame.

1. Install the engine mount bracket to the engine block.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

2. Install the engine mount assembly bolts, nuts, and washers to the crossmember.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 54 N·m (40 lb ft).




3. Install the engine mount assembly bolts, nuts, and washers to the crossmember.

Tighten

•	Tighten the bolts to 59 N·m (44 lb ft).

•	Tighten the nuts to 45 N·m (33 lb ft).




4. Lower the engine until the engine mount through bolt can be inserted.
5. Install the engine mount through bolt and the nut.

Tighten
Tighten the through bolt nut to 68 N·m (50 lb ft).




6. Install the engine oil cooler line retaining bracket to the engine mount bracket.
7. Install the engine oil cooler lines to the retaining bracket.



8. Remove the pole jack from the vehicle.
9. Lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
10. Connect both the battery negative cables to the batteries. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.

Engine Mount Replacement Right

1. Disconnect both the battery negative cable from the batteries. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
2. Raise the vehicle and support with safety stands. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
3. Remove the starter from the engine block (right side only) and secure out of the way. Refer to Starter Motor Replacement in Engine Electrical.
4. Install a pole jack on the right rear corner of the engine block just above starter.
5. Remove the engine mount through bolt and the nut.
6. Raise the engine only enough to permit removal of the engine mount.



7. Remove the engine mount bracket from the engine block.



8. Remove the engine mount assembly from the frame.

1. Install the engine mount assembly to the engine block.

Tighten
Tighten the through bolt nut to 68 N·m (50 lb ft).

6. Remove the pole jack from the engine block.
7. Install the starter to the engine block (right side only). Refer to Starter Motor Replacement in Engine Electrical.
8. Remove the safety stands and lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
9. Connect both the battery negative cables to the batteries. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
