Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle with safety stands. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

  2. Object Number: 107447  Size: SH
  3. Loosen the exhaust pipe clamp that retains the tail pipe to the rear of the muffler.

  4. Object Number: 160899  Size: SH
  5. Remove the hanger from the exhaust system as required.
  6. Remove the tailpipe from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the tailpipe to the vehicle.

  2. Object Number: 107447  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the exhaust pipe clamp that retains the tailpipe to the rear of the muffler.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the exhaust pipe clamp that retains the tailpipe to the rear of the muffler to 47 N·m (35 lb ft).

  5. Remove the safety stands and lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
