Removal Procedure

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  2. Remove the upper fan shroud. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement in Engine Cooling.
  3. Remove the serpentine belt from the generator. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in Engine Mechanical.
  4. Remove the generator bracket from the vehicle. Refer to Accessory Mounting Brackets Replacement in Engine Mechanical.

  5. Remove the nut and battery cable from the generator.
  6. Remove the electrical connector from the generator.
  7. Remove the generator brace from the vehicle. Refer to Generator Brace Replacement - Auxiliary .

    8. Object Number: 163784 Size: SH
  8. Remove the generator from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 163784 Size: SH
  1. Install the generator to the vehicle.
  2. Install the generator brace to the vehicle. Refer to Generator Brace Replacement - Auxiliary .

    3. Object Number: 184024 Size: SH
  3. Connect the electrical connector to the generator.
  4. Install the nut and battery cable to the generator.
  5. Install the generator bracket to the vehicle. Refer to Accessory Mounting Brackets Replacement in Engine Mechanical.
  6. Install the serpentine belt to the generator. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in Engine Mechanical.
  7. Install the upper fan shroud. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement in Engine Cooling.
  8. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
