J 39529 Heater Hose Pliers

Removal Procedure

  1. Partially drain the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.
  2. Remove the air cleaner, if necessary. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement , Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement , Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement or Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls.
  3. Remove the coolant recovery reservoir or the surge tank. Refer to Coolant Recovery Reservoir Replacement or Surge Tank (Diesel) Replacement in Engine Cooling.

  4. Object Number: 301617  Size: SH
  5. Remove the hose clamps using the J 39529 .

  6. Object Number: 395274  Size: SH
  7. Remove the hose support clamps, the brackets, or the retainers as necessary.
  8. Remove the heater hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 395274  Size: SH
  1. Connect the heater hose to the vehicle.
  2. Install the hose support clamps, the brackets, or the retainers as necessary.

  3. Object Number: 301617  Size: SH
  4. Install the hose clamps using the J 39529 .
  5. Install the coolant recovery reservoir or the surge tank. Refer to Coolant Recovery Reservoir Replacement or Surge Tank (Diesel) Replacement in Engine Cooling.
  6. Install the air cleaner, if necessary. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement , Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement , Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement or Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls.
  7. Fill the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.
  8. Verify that the system has no leaks.
