Chassis Lubrication

Chassis Lubricant (GM P/N 12377985 or equivalent) or lubricant meeting requirements of NLGI Grade 2, Category LB or GC-LB.

Differential, Locking

Only use Axle Lubricant GM P/N 1052271. Do NOT add friction modifier.

Engine Coolant

A 50/50 mixture of clean, drinkable water and use only GM Goodwrench DEX-COOL® or Havoline® DEX-COOL® (orange-colored, silicate-free) coolant conforming to GM specification 6277M.

Engine Coolant Supplemental Sealer

Notice: DO NOT use cooling system seal tabs, or similar compounds, unless otherwise instructed. The use of cooling system seal tabs, or similar compounds, may restrict coolant flow through the passages of the cooling system or the engine components. Restricted coolant flow may cause engine overheating and/or damage to the cooling system or the engine components/assembly.

Engine Oil

Diesel Engine

Engine Oil with letters CH-4 or CG-4 is best for this vehicle. The CG-4 or CH-4 may appear either alone, or in combination with other API designations. These letters show American Petroleim Institute (API) levels of quality.

Gasoline Engine

Engine Oil with the American Petroleum Institute Certified For Gasoline Engines Starburst symbol of the proper viscosity.

Front Wheel Bearings-RWD

Wheel Bearing Lubricant meeting requirements of NLGI Grade 2, Category GC or GC-LB (GM P/N 1051344 or equivalent).

Hood and Door Hinges

Multi-Purpose Lubricant, Superlube® (GM P/N 12346241 or equivalent).

Hood Latch Assembly

Lubriplate® Lubricant Aerosol (GM P/N 12346293 or equivalent) or lubricant meeting requirements of NLGI Grade 2, Category LB or GC-LB.

Hydraulic Brake System

Delco Supreme 11® Brake Fluid (GM P/N 12377967 or equivalent DOT-3 Brake Fluid).

Key Lock Cylinders

Multi-Purpose Lubricant, Superlube® (GM P/N 12346241 or equivalent).

One Piece-Propshaft Spline

Spline Lubricant, Special Lubricant (GM P/N 12345879 or equivalent) or lubricant meeting requirements of GM 9985830.

Park Brake Cable Guides

Chassis Lubricant (GM P/N 12377985 or equivalent) or lubricant meeting requirements of NLGI Grade 2, Category LB or GC-LB.

Power Steering System

GM Power Steering Fluid (GM P/N 1052884-1 pint, 1050017-1 quart, or equivalent).

Propeller Shaft Slip Splines and Universal Joints

Chassis Lubricant (GM P/N 12377985 or equivalent) or lubricant meeting requirements of NLGI Grade 2, Category LB or GC-LB.

Rear Axle Standard Differential

Axle Lubricant (GM P/N 1052271) or SAE 80W-90 Gear Lubricant.

Weatherstrip conditioning

Dielectric Silicone Grease (GM P/N 12345579 or equivalent).

Weatherstrip squeaks

Synthetic Grease with Teflon, Loctite Superlube® (GM P/N 12371287 or equivalent).

Windshield Washer Solvent

GM Optikleen® Washer Solvent (GM P/N 1051515 or equivalent).
