Spare Wheel Hoist Replacement Passenger and Cargo

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the spare tire from the tire hoist. Refer to Spare Tire Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 161302  Size: SH
  3. Remove the retaining bolt from the hoist.

  4. Object Number: 160841  Size: SH
  5. Remove the pin and the retainer clip from the hoist and the shaft.

  6. Object Number: 161303  Size: SH
  7. Remove the spare tire shaft and guide from the vehicle.

  8. Object Number: 161302  Size: SH
  9. Remove the hoist from the crossmember.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 161302  Size: SH
  1. Install the hoist to the crossmember.

  2. Object Number: 161303  Size: SH
  3. Install the spare tire shaft and guide to the vehicle.

  4. Object Number: 160841  Size: SH
  5. Install the pin and the retainer clip to the hoist and the shaft.

  6. Object Number: 161302  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  7. Install the retaining bolt to the hoist.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

  9. Install the spare tire to the hoist. Refer to Spare Tire Replacement
