J 28662 Brake Pedal Effort Gauge

1. Release the brake pedal.
2. Start the engine.
3. Press the brake pedal fully.
4. With the brake pedal pressed, turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
5. Inspect the pedal travel. If there is no change in pedal travel, the booster is airtight and functioning normally.
6. If brake pedal travel exists after the engine is turned off, complete the following procedure:

6.1.	Install a check valve and hose that are known to be operating properly.

6.2.	Repeat the first four steps.

6.3.	If there is no change in pedal travel, replace the check valve and the hose.
