Tires with unequal contact and unequal grip on road surfaces cause unequal braking. Ensure that the tires meet the following requirements:
• | Equal inflation |
• | Identical in size |
• | The tread pattern of the right and left tires must be approximately equal. |
A heavily loaded vehicle requires more braking effort. On a vehicle with unequal loading, the most heavily loaded wheels require more braking effort than the other wheels.
Misalignment of the wheels, particularly excessive camber and caster, can cause the brakes to pull to one side.
Towing a trailer requires longer braking distances and tends to overheat the brakes sooner.
