The brake indicator lamp in the instrument cluster warns the driver of:
• | Loss of hydraulic fluid pressure |
• | Parking brake operation |
• | Possible malfunction in the antilock brake system |
The parking brake switch or the brake pressure modulator value supplies the ground that turns on the BRAKE indicator lamp.
The ANTI-LOCK indicator lamp in the instrument cluster informs the driver of the antilock system operation and malfunctions. When a malfunction occurs, the brake pressure modulator valve completes the circuit to the indicator lamp. The lamp may stay on or turn off depending on the nature of the malfunction. The BRAKE lamp serves a backup if a malfunction occurs in this circuit.
