The ABS indicator is illuminated via a normally closed ground circuit in the EBCM. When the ABS indicator is commanded on, the feedback voltage to the EBCM from the ABS failure control circuit is low.
The ignition is ON.
The EBCM detects high feedback voltage from the ABS failure control circuit when the ABS lamp is commanded on.
The BRAKE indicator is substituted for the ABS indicator and is commanded on if an ABS disabling DTC sets in EBCM memory.
