Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.
  2. Recover the refrigerant, if equipped with A/C. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  3. Remove the coolant recovery reservoir or the surge tank. Refer to Coolant Recovery Reservoir Replacement or Surge Tank (Diesel) Replacement in Engine Cooling.
  4. Remove the battery from the vehicle. Refer to Battery Replacement in Engine Electrical.
  5. Remove the A/C accumulator. Refer to Air Conditioning Accumulator Replacement .

  7. Disconnect the heater hoses from the heater core.
  8. Remove the right kick panel. Refer to Body Hinge Pillar Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  9. Remove the right knee bolster. Refer to Passenger Knee Bolster Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  10. Remove the outer floor air outlet duct. Refer to Floor Air Outlet Replacement - Right Side .

  11. Object Number: 301592  Size: SH
  12. Remove the retaining screws from the heater case.
  13. CAREFULLY open the heater core access door in order to obtain the retainers.

  14. Object Number: 301590  Size: SH
  15. Remove the retainers from the heater core.
  16. Remove the heater core from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 301590  Size: SH
  1. Install the heater core to the vehicle.
  2. Install the retainers to the heater core.

  3. Object Number: 301592  Size: SH
  4. CAREFULLY close the heater core access door.
  5. Install the retaining screws into the heater case.
  6. Install the outer floor air outlet duct. Refer to Floor Air Outlet Replacement - Right Side .
  7. Install the right knee bolster. Refer to Passenger Knee Bolster Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  8. Install the right kick panel. Refer to Body Hinge Pillar Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.

  9. Object Number: 301609  Size: SH
  10. Connect the heater hoses to the heater core.
  11. Install the A/C accumulator. Refer to Air Conditioning Accumulator Replacement .
  12. Install the battery into the vehicle. Refer to Battery Replacement in Engine Electrical.
  13. Install the coolant recovery reservoir or the surge tank. Refer to Coolant Recovery Reservoir Replacement or Surge Tank (Diesel) Replacement in Engine Cooling.
  14. Charge the A/C system, if equipped with A/C. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  15. Fill the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.
