HAZARD fuse 5 powers the multifunction alarm module at all times through CKT 1040 (ORN). The multifunction alarm module is grounded through CKT 150 (BLK) to G201.
The safety belt lamp on the instrument cluster will light and the audible alarm will sound for 5 seconds if the driver's side seat belt is not fastened when the ignition switch is placed in the RUN or START positions. The light will automatically extinguish and the audible alarm will be automatically silenced either by fastening the seatbelt or by waiting approximately 5 seconds.
When the driver's side seat belt is fastened, contacts in the seat belt switch open. This opens the ground path to G201 through CKT 238 (BLK/WHT) and CKT 150 (BLK). The mulitfunction alarm then senses that the seat belt is fastened.
When the ignition switch is in the RUN or START positions, voltage is sensed at the multifunction alarm module from GAUGES fuse 4 through CKT 39 (PNK).
If the seat belt is not fastened and the ignition switch is in the RUN or START positions, the alarmand indicator conditions are met. However, a timing circuit in the module inhibits the alarm after five seconds if the conditions remain present. If the seat belt is opened after the five second delay, the alarm remains inhibited.
