Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 497983  Size: SH

    Important: Do not disconnect the brake lines from the master cylinder.

  1. Remove the master cylinder. Refer to Master Cylinder Replacement in Hydraulic Brakes.
  2. Set the master cylinder aside.
  3. Remove the bolt from the washer solvent container.

  4. Object Number: 497985  Size: SH
  5. Lift the washer solvent container up enough to access the washer hose and the electrical connector.
  6. Disconnect the washer hose from the washer pump.
  7. Disconnect the electrical connector from the washer pump.
  8. Remove the washer solvent container from the vehicle.

  10. Remove the washer pump from the washer solvent container.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the washer pump in the washer solvent container.

  2. Object Number: 497985  Size: SH
  3. Connect the electrical connector to the washer pump.
  4. Connect the washer hose to the washer pump.
  5. Position the washer solvent container into the locating holes in the chassis.

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  7. Install the washer solvent container with the bolt.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  9. Install the master cylinder. Refer to Master Cylinder Replacement in Hydraulic Brakes.
