  1. Disconnect multi-function alarm module connector C2.
  2. Operate the vehicle below 120 km/h.

  1. Disconnect vehicle control module (VCM) connector C4.
  2. Disconnect the instrument cluster.
  3. Connect a J 39200 DMM between multi-function alarm module connector C2 cavity B for CKT 389 (DK GRN) and ground. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Is continuity present?

  1. Reconnect vehicle control module (VCM) connector C4.
  2. Reconnect multi-function alarm module connector C2.
  3. Operate the vehicle below 120 km/h with the instrument cluster still disconnected.

Does the overspeed chime sound with the vehicle speed below 120 km/h?

Repair the short to ground in CKT 389 (DK GRN) between the multi-function alarm module and the VCM or the instrument cluster. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the multi-function alarm module. Refer to Multifunction Alarm Module Replacement .
