DEFINITION: On vehicles equipped with RPO UD4, the audible alarm does not sound when the vehicle speed exceeds 120 km/h.

  1. Block the front wheels.
  2. Raise and support the rear axle to allow safe operation of the vehicle:
  3. 2.1. Start the engine.
    2.2. Place in Drive.
    2.3. Slowly raise vehicle speed to 125 Km/h.
  4. Listen for the alarm to sound as the vehicle speed exceeds 120 km/h.
  5. Gradually slow the vehicle to a stop.
  6. Place the shifter in Park.
  7. Turn the ignition switch OFF.

Does the alarm sound as the vehicle speed exceeds 120 km/h?

  1. Disconnect multi-function alarm module connector C2.
  2. Disconnect vehicle control module (VCM) connector C4.
  3. Connect a J 39200 DMM between multi-function alarm module connector C2 cavity B and VCM connector C4 cavity 4 for CKT 389 (DK GRN). Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Is continuity present?

Locate and repair the open in CKT 389 (DK GRN) between the multi-function alarm module and the VCM. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Replace the multi-function alarm module. Refer to Multifunction Alarm Module Replacement .

Does the alarm now operate?

Operate the vehicle in order to verify the repair.
