  1. Unbuckle the driver's seat belt.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to RUN.
  3. Buckle the driver's seat belt.

Does the fasten safety belt chime sound only until the driver's seat belt is buckled?

Important: Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR before disconnecting the inflatable restraint sensing and diagnostic module.

  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
  2. Disconnect multi-function alarm module connector C1.
  3. Disconnect the seat belt switch.
  4. Disconnect the inflatable restraint sensing and diagnostic module.
  5. Connect a J 39200 DMM between multifunction alarm module connector C1 cavity A2 for CKT 238 (BLK/WHT) and ground. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

  1. Fasten the driver's side safety belt.
  2. Connect a J 39200 DMM between seat belt switch pigtail pin A and pigtail pin B. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Repair the short to ground between the multi-function alarm module and either the seat belt switch or the inflatable restraint sensing and diagnostic module. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the seat belt switch. Refer to Front Seat Belt Buckle Replacement in Seat Belts.
